Dental technology is evolving just as fast as phones and computers, enabling dentists like Dr. Plummer to accomplish things that would have been considered science fiction just a few years ago. Now, she’s able to take X-rays without exposing patients to excess radiation, make persistent dental nerves disappear, and she can even treat chronic pain throughout the head and neck. She works hard to keep Maxwello Dental & Orthodontics on the leading-edge of dentistry, and you’ll benefit from her efforts at every single appointment.

TMJ/TMD Therapy

Man in pain holding jaw

If you move your jaw from side to side, those little hinges you feel right next to your ears are actually your TMJ or temporomandibular joint. Like others in the body, it can sometimes develop strain and dysfunction (often because of a misaligned bite), leading to pain and stiffness not only in the jaw but the head and neck as well. In fact, TMJ dysfunction (or TMD) is one of the leading causes of chronic migraines!

To help patients get the relief they need, our team can provide a variety of effective and non-invasive solutions. We can rebalance the bite, provide a therapeutic oral appliance, and even use targeted Botox injections to immediately calm tense and spasming muscles.

Sedation Dentistry

Have you avoided going to the dentist because of fear or anxiety? If so, then sedation dentistry was made just for you. Our dentists can prescribe you a pill to take before your appointment that will help you become completely relaxed before you even sit in the chair, or, for more extreme dental nerves, a sedative can be administered directly into your bloodstream via an IV. In either case, a smooth and pain-free appointment is guaranteed, showing you that there is no reason to be afraid of the dentist anymore.

Digital X-Rays

Panoramic dental x-rays

X-rays are a very important tool in our dental office as they allow our team to find the earliest signs of oral health issues before they are even visible to the naked eye. To speed up our diagnostic process and give our patients peace of mind who are concerned about radiation, we have upgraded to only using digital X-rays. They take much, much less time to develop crystal-clear images and emit 90% LESS radiation compared to traditional X-rays.
