We Welcome All Dental Insurance
At Maxwello Dental & Orthodontics, we never want finances to stand in the way of local families getting their much needed dental care, and that’s a big reason why we’re such an “insurance-friendly” dental office. If you have a PPO dental insurance plan, we’ll accept it, and our team will help you maximize your benefits at every single visit. To learn a little more about the best ways to use your insurance, you’ll find our short guide below.
Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
Dental insurance and health insurance are similar in many ways, but the main difference is that dental insurance is primarily designed to help patients pay for preventive services. The idea is that by making routine care more affordable, a patient will be able to take care of minor problems early and avoid more serious issues (that require more extensive procedures to fix). The end result (ideally) is better oral health and less spent on dental care overall.
What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers
Every dental insurance plan is unique, but most offer coverage in the same basic way:
- Preventive services are covered 80-100%
- Basic restorative services are covered 70-80%
- Advanced restorative services are covered 50%
- Cosmetic services are NOT covered
- Orthodontics are partially covered, though many plans only provide benefits for traditional braces for patients 18 and under
Preventive services include checkups, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants. So, if you’re hoping to save as much as possible on your dental care, it’s smart to simply attend your routine visits twice a year as recommended. This way, you’ll spend little to no money out of pocket at the dentist and will still be taking great care of your teeth.
We Offer In-Network Savings & Welcome Out-of-Network Providers
Maxwello Dental & Orthodontics is able to offer in-network benefits for multiple major PPO plans, and we’re happy to accept all out-of-network plans as well. Depending on your specific policy, you might be surprised by how much you can still save even when going out-of-network. If you don’t see your plan on the list below, give us a call, and we can discuss how we can use it to help you spend significantly less at your next appointment.
